I have a wonderful group of 4-year-old and 5-year-old students in my class. This is my second year teaching a TK/ Kinder combination class. I love the smiles they bring to our distance learning Zoom classes every day! Most of my students are learning English as a second language, making their first year in school a little more challenging. All of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch and Second Harvest Food Bank comes to our school each month to bring healthy fruits and vegetables to them.
My Project
My students will use these small zoo phonics cards daily during our small group time while working with my aide and me. Each double sided card has the animal on one side and the animal with the letter on the other side, as well as the action for each letter. The action makes the letter more memorable for my students. I would like two sets of the small zoo phonics cards to give my students more practice in a small group setting. With two sets of cards, we can play match up game, and use the cards in my guided reading groups to learn letters and make words with the letter cards. These cards will allow my students more time, exposure and activities with zoo phonics and they will learn the letters faster. My students need help! Will you help them? Thank you!
