My Students

My kindergarten students are a diverse group of active, happy, and eager kids! I teach in a classroom where half of the day's instruction is in English and the other half of the day's instruction is in Spanish. My students are a 50/50 mix of native English and native Spanish speakers. The student population consists of 42% English language learners and 57% of students from low income families. We are a kindergarten through second grade school and have about five hundred students. Our diverse students love to learn!

My Project

I teach in a low income school district and we do not get the funding to help support the growth of technology in education. I am asking for a donation of two iPads and cases for students to use during center time. The iPads will have different types of education apps on it that students can utilize during our reading center time. I have chosen a variety of high quality educational apps, including ones for reading and math both in Spanish and English. My dream is to have a class set of iPads, one for each student and be able to put individualized apps on each student's iPad. This project will help us get closer to our goal!
