Kinders Are Authors and Illustrators

Help me give my students picture story paper, folders, primary pencils, and watercolor paper.

My Project

Kindergarten students are enthusiastic learners with big imaginations. Most of them love to draw pictures. Instead of handing them blank sheets of paper, I find that giving them a paper that has space for a picture and preprinted primary lines for their words invites them to turn their single picture into a story!

My kindergarten students are authors and illustrators.

To support their budding skills I would like to provide them pencils that are thicker and easier to grasp for their developing pencil grip. They'll need watercolor paper to absorb their watercolor paint to avoid creating soggy rips or holes in their work. They will also explore their creativity using a new tool, oil pastels, to add depth and texture to their illustrations and artwork.

This project would additionally fund folders which we will use to hold our favorite in-progress work and keep it from getting smashed in our book bins.
