Kinders and Robots (Learning to Code)

My Students

My 17 students are so energetic, creative, and ready to learn. Our students are very diverse in their learning styles and backgrounds. We are in a high poverty urban area. Many of my students come from single parent homes where the parent is often working 2 or more jobs to make ends meet. Despite challenges that are beyond of their control, my students come to school with that "ready to learn something new" attitude. My job as their teacher is to keep the momentum and love for learning growing and to give them a positive learning environment.

My Project

My kiddos have had the opportunity to have a some technology experience by using iPads. Now, it is time for us to step up our technology game little bit more. Coding is an exciting new adventure that our class is ready to go on. The requested robots (Wonder Workshop's Dot and Dash) encourage deep thinking and help with problem solving skills. There are also several apps to download to help with the coding learning experience that are free. Adding these two little robots to our classroom will create a new, magical experience for the students to be able to explore the amazing world of coding.
