Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Everybody remembers their favorite puzzle from childhood. I used to love how the big knobs felt in my fingers and the feeling of satisfaction that came along with fitting a piece in just right. As a kindergarten teacher, I find that puzzles are a wonderful way for children to practice problem solving skills, hand-eye coordination, and just plain have fun. In our very low income neighborhood in the Bronx, the children do not have puzzles at home. Nor do they have any in the classroom. We are in desperate needs for puzzles! The following puzzle sets from lakeshorelearning.com would be such an excellent addition to our classroom, providing the students of K-3 with the basic problem solving skills they need as they progress throughout the school year. Each puzzle type also addresses a different area of learning: science, social studies, and math.
