Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently teaching a Kindergarten English as a Second language self contained class. All my students are currently learning English as newcomers to the United States of America.
My kindergarten students are in need of math manipulatives. Although my students are all English language learners, they have a high potential as mathematicians. With enough math manipulatives, they will be able to master high levels in mathematics at a young age.
I need as much counting, time, money and any other manipulatives that can help my kindergarten students become expert in mathematics. Because my students are all English language learners, these manipulatives not only will help develop their mathematical skills, but also it will help them to develop their language skills. The counting bears will help my students develop their number sense. They will be able to count and see what they are counting. All the math manipulative will help my students learn about money, number sense and time. The math manipulative my students need will help them develop their mathematical skills as well as their language development. The clocks will help them learn time, the counters will help them develop skills, the math puzzles will help my students will working in small cooperative groups. All the materials will not only help them rise their mathematical levels but also will help them develop their social skills as well as English language development. With a class filled with math manipulative my English Language Learners will become Kindermathician experts!
Donors, Donors, Donors, with your help it will be possible for my students become mathematians!
