My Students
I teach at a Title One school with a very diverse population. As a school, we strive to provide every opportunity and resources to support our children to have a successful year. In both AM and PM classes, our children come to kindergarten with varying abilities and skills. There are children who come already reading and others who can not even write one letter in their name.
I work hard to challenge and engage each child in my classroom and build upon the skills they have.
My hope is that they love learning and coming to school every day.
My Project
It is important to me that I give my students a variety of reading materials and games to encourage their love of reading. There are many different reading levels in my classroom and by providing them with diverse materials, they have more opportunities to learn at their own pace and in the way that is best for them individually.
The LeapFrog readers will teach my students valuable reading skills in a fun and engaging way.
The Apple TV will enable me to walk around and help children who are struggling during a lesson.
I have a listening center in my classroom to help children with language arts skills. Currently, I do not have enough headphones for more than one or two children, due to them working inconsistently. I would like to give more students in my classroom a chance to listen and build their fluency and vocabulary.
