Kindergartners Build What They Know Using Code & GO!
Help me give my students opportunities to learn and play simultaneously using engaging coding technology including the Code & Go Stem Coding Classroom Set and the Bee-Bot Rechargeable Robots.

My Students
My classroom is full of 18 energetic kindergartners! These boys and girls are a diverse group of 5 & 6 year olds. Some come from single parent homes and others live with both parents. Some of my students receive free or reduced lunch and do not have many advantages financially. When we come together in the classroom, no matter our race, or financial status, my students respect one another and celebrate each other. They amaze me every day with how quickly they absorb information and how they apply new knowledge. They like to move and are definitely hands-on learners. These young children are creative, compassionate and they love to come to school every day.

These boys and girls love new experiences and they are excited to show what they know and help one another. Our class is filled with children who have a great capacity for compassion and kindness and they are respectful of individual strengths and needs.
My Project
Through project-based learning activities, my kindergartners will work cooperatively in small groups to create coding maps in increasing difficulty to be followed using Bee-Bots and Code & Go mice. These activities will provide them with opportunities to develop problem-solving skills as they make edits to coding maps as needed.
My 21st century learners will develop their technology and coding skills when using the Bee-Bots and Code & GO robots.
The robotics and robotic resources in this project will allow my students to participate in technology based learning that is both engaging and meaningful.
The social skills of cooperation, collaboration and negotiation will all strengthen during the participation of these project-based learning activities.
