How would write without a pencil? What would you do with no eraser or pencil sharpener?
My students live in a semi-urban area just outside of our downtown.
They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and bring with them a wide variety of experiences. Many have never been in school before and several receive free or reduced priced lunch. Our school is a true community school and everyone involved is fully dedicated to the education and well-being of our students.
My Project
My students need pencils, erasers, pencil grips and a pencil sharpener. My students will use these materials all the time! Most especially, they will use them during our Writing Workshop time. During that time, we are focusing on writing instruction and building confidence in our students. They will be able to have all the necessary tools available so that they can focus on the fundamentals of writing and not worry about the tools and materials required.
These materials will have a huge impact on my students and I can't wait to get them in my classroom!
My students will love having pencils and erasers at their disposal, and it will be very convenient to have a pencil sharpener they can use. The pencil grips will be extremely beneficial to students with weak grips and who need some help holding their pencils. These materials will give my students the materials they need to become better and confident writers!
