My Project
As a kindergarten teacher, I have seen how powerful technology can be in reaching students. There are a lot of really great educational websites and apps out there that can really help me target my students' individual needs. Unfortunately, the iPads that I currently have are so old they are considered obsolete by Apple and many apps no longer function on them. Without newer iPads my students do not have access to these resources. One of these apps is Osmo, which I have also requested, it includes manipulatives that my students will use to create and learn the letter shapes, problem solve, and practice listening comprehension with real time feedback from the app.
My students are most excited when they are learning hands-on.
I plan to use the iPad and Osmo during our center time. During this time it is crucial to have activities that the students can do independently while also keeping them motivated. This allows me to work with other students focusing on their specific needs one and one and in small groups.
