This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a kindergarten teacher in a high-need community public school. Can you imagine story time without a rug to sit on?
My classroom has no carpet for story time, nor the resources to buy one. I brought one in from my own home but it's small, uncomfortable, and not very childlike. Plus my family would like it back.
This carpet and learning set are large enough for all of my students and will help me show them the world. If you are someone who remembers geography class you'll know why I chose a rug that shows the continents. Students in America know less about geography than most other students worldwide.
If you can help, your donation will provide my students with a comfortable place to land and learn. Kindergarten isn't what it used to be, we work hard all day long, help me let them have pleasant memories of story time. The kind of memories that last a lifetime.
