This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarteners love to read! My students have fallen in love with Mo Willems and Dr. Suess. I want to continue to foster that love with a new listening center! I want to see my students continue to grow. With the right materials, we can make learning easy and fun!

My students are in a title one school in the heart of southeast DC.

They come to school ready to learn each day, and I want to make sure they are provided quality materials to help them succeed. In such a high need school, my students deserve to be able to access grade level material with ease.

My Project

I would love my students to fall in love with books like "Where the Wild Things Are" and "Oh, The Places You'll Go", but we need a new listening center to do that! I am requesting a visual timer so that my special needs students can transition center to center with ease. The word spacers will also ease writing time frustrations by giving them a fun tool to help them clearly state their ideas. Wipe and Write pockets will also keep anxiety levels down by allowing my students to practice new skills without the worry of making mistakes.

Any donations to my classroom would allow my students to access books to excite their imaginations.

These materials would allow my students to access grade level content with ease and little frustration.
