This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Kindergarten in an NYC DOE school. I have 25 eager to learn students. My students are predominately ENL students, who are learning to not only read and write but also how to speak English. 100% of our school population qualify for free lunch. We are a Title I school. My students are a fully remote class. I am always looking for new, fun ways to engage their minds and to have some fun while learning virtually.
My Project
Teaching a fully remote kindergarten class is tough. These little learners are eager to learn, as most kindergarteners are, but learning from home, on an iPad, can sometimes make learning difficult. On top of learning remotely, these little guys are also learning the English language. It's hard enough to keep them engaged but learning on a tablet makes it even more difficult.
I want to give my students, who are learning under unusual circumstances, some fun engaging experiences that will keep them learning and having fun at the same time.
