My Students

I am a Kindergarten teacher. Due to the pandemic, many of my students are entering school without any prior education experience. They have not been to preschool and have less background reading, writing, and math knowledge than past students have had.

I would love to provide my students with as many opportunities as I can to help improve their reading, math, and other skills.

I want to give them different ways of learning all of the basic skills that a kindergartener needs by the end of the school year.

My Project

The more I have learned about reading the more I have learned how important phonics and phonemic awareness skills are. These are all items that will help my students take their letter sound knowledge and extend it to create words and manipulate words and sounds. This will further their reading skills in an exciting and engaging way. With so many students' learning being affected by the pandemic, it is important to strengthen all students phonemic awareness and reading skills. These skills will help them be successful as they move onto upper grades.
