I have a wonderful group of 4-year-old and 5-year-old students in my class. This is my second year teaching a TK/ Kinder combination class. I love the smiles they bring to our class every day! Most of my students are learning English as a second language, making their first year in school a little more challenging. All of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch and Second Harvest Food Bank comes to our school each month to bring healthy fruits and vegetables to them.
My Project
School has begun and it has been a little bit rocky as we embark on a new year with new guidelines during this pandemic! To make everything run a bit smoother, I am asking for a variety of materials so I would like to explain how each will be used. First of all, I would like to order some journals for my students where they can draw a picture and write how they are feeling or a story. These journals are perfect for kindergarten. There is a nice space at the top for their picture with wide lines for them to write. The Shrinky Dink paper and key rings will be used to make Christmas gifts as well as Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts. The dry erase circles will be used on our kidney shaped table so that they kids will know where to sit. This way, they will not sit too close to each other. Currently when I call them to the table, they all sit next to each other and I need to ask them to move. Lastly in order to improve classroom behavior, I have made some special cards for my students. The magnetic hooks will keep these cards in order and I will use the heart/star hole punchers to give positive reinforcement to those students with good behaviors. Since each child has a card, each child will need a ring to hang their card on the hook. It may seem like a list of random items, but each of these things will have a special place in our room. They say it takes a village to raise a child. Would you like to be a part of our village? Thank you for taking the time to read our proposal and have a nice day!
