This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn daily despite the fact that most of them come to school with little or no school supplies. I focus on providing a fun and creative learning environment. My students are regular education and English as a Second Language Learners. Most of my students live in single-parent​ homes.

I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch daily.

Many of our families, in our school community, were impacted by the experience of Hurricane Harvey. The devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey was horrible. Most can only imagine the impact this storm had on our district area. I know I cannot change the struggles they face at home, but I can make sure their lives at school are positive, exciting, and rewarding.

My Project

Teaching Kindergarten is very rewarding. My students work very hard to accomplish their individual goals. Having colorful exciting rewards for their hard work will encourage them to see their goals through. In this time with all the technology around it is hard to motivate some students. Having these trinkets will allow my students to receive instant rewards daily.

Colorful rewards can encourage our goals in learning.

My students can use the punch cards to track goals and once they reach our classroom goals they will be able to pick a reward of their choice. Students can choose a drawing boards, cars, trucks, slap bracelets, pencils, key chains or rings from the treasure trunk.
