Help me give my students the start they need to successfully begin Kindergarten next fall. The Ready For Kindergarten Backpacks will give my students the necessary supplies to continue learning at home with manipulative materials.
My students are in transitional kindergarten and are very eager to learn and need to have opportunites to engage in learning with materials that are familiar learning materials from the classroom and maintain their interest. Having supplies for learning opportunities is very important for the demographic of my students. The school my students attend has a high homeless population and the social economic status of our families is extremely low.
The students at this school are inquisitive, eager to learn, motivated to come to school and grateful for the opportunities that the school and teacher provide for them.
My Project
Students will have access to materials in their home that are not currently available to them. Students will have journals to practice writing and dictating stories to their parents. They will have supplies like scissors and glue to do art projects with family members. Inside the backpack are alphabet letters, numbers, linking chains for counting and a calendar of ideas parents can supplement learning with over the summer.
These backpacks will give my students materials to practice their kindergarten readiness skills while at home.
Continued learning with the necessary materials will be a key factor in kindergarten readiness.
