Kindergarten Students in Need of Social Studies Supplies
My students need 30 Weekly Reader Subscriptions for our classroom to use during our social studies time. We do not have non-fiction materials to use during social studies.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a class of WONDERFUL kindergarten students from a very diverse background. These students are curious about current events in our world today and love to learn!
My students are a very diverse group with most of them speaking English as their second language.
These students come to kindergarten with such enthusiasm to learn and achieve! My students are very inquisitive about the world around them and current events-I am so proud to be their teacher!
My Project
These Weekly Reader subscriptions will help my students learn about what is happening in the world around them in a kid-friendly tone they can understand. They will be able to make connections to their lives through the lessons provided in each weekly issue.
This project is important to my students because many of them lack the money and resources to subscribe to a newspaper or magazines at home.
This subscription will be a window into the world around them for my students and a way for them to continue their love of reading with non fiction articles!
