My Project

Kindergarten students thrive in a learning environment where they can actively engage with materials and concepts. Through hands-on activities, like building with blocks, creating artwork in a makerspace, using a variety of manipulatives in math, and using physical models in science, students gain a deeper understanding of abstract concepts.

Children are naturally curious and often learn best when they can physically interact with the world around them.

The Magna-Tiles selected correlate directly to our literacy units and will allow students to creatively engineer settings to bring the stories to life. My students also love to use manipulatives when grappling with difficult math topics. The pop bubbles and cash register will be new, interactive ways to enhance their learning in math.

Incorporating hands-on learning within STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) topics not only supports academia but also nurtures social and emotional development. The experiences they will have while using these tools will encourage creativity and innovation, as students explore new ideas and solutions through trial and error. My students love to learn and I want to help them develop a passion for these subjects as they grow.
