This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Exercising is the best way to stay healthy and promote well being for students.

I have taught twenty-three years with the district and spent most of my years teaching kindergarten students.

I love this age group because five and six year olds love to come to school. The students are excited to learn and I am excited to teach and to give them the gift of reading, writing and the world around them. I believe that our students need more exercise to stay healthy. It is a direct link to being happy. This is the reason why I am interested in teaching organized games and physical education to the students. The enthusiasm and the interest of the students is inspiring. I wish I had funds to buy more P.E equipment and teach new games.

My Project

By attending this workshop, I hope to bring a new and innovative physical education program to our school. Not only will it benefit my students but it will also benefit our kindergarten program. I would like to share my knowledge with other teachers at our school and bring more physical education into the curriculum. It has become mandated for our district teachers to teach physical education every day. This SPARK Institute workshop will be perfect in implementing fun and progressive program for our students.

Education to teach a better P.E program will make a huge impact on our students' well being and their motivation to exercise.
