My Students
Kindergarten students are inquisitive and full of creativity. They are always looking for ways to interact in our classroom. They need to move, sing, talk, and touch as they learn.
My kindergarteners are five and six years old and attend a public school in a working class community in Virginia.
Parents are very supportive of school but most work one or two jobs outside of the home and are unable to volunteer as much as they would like. The poverty rate at our school is the highest in the county.
My Project
This sensory table will be such a wonderful addition to our classroom. We can fill it with a variety of items that will enhance student learning. When we are working on alphabet or numbers, students can practice forming letters and numbers in sand. We can fill the sensory table with water, and students can explore which items sink and which ones float. The possibilities are endless.
My kindergarten class is filled with such eager learners.
This sensory table will engage them in so many ways. Kindergarten students need to touch and explore their world and this sensory table will let them dig in to their learning!
