Kindergarten Science STEM Activities

My students need a complete set of innovative STEM Science Stations, a complete set of Measurement Centers, and science "Match-ups" puzzles.

My Students

Kindergarten students are not intimidated by science; in fact, they LOVE science because they get to experience learning through hands-on activities. Science is one of the most important subjects in Kindergarten and is easily integrated into reading and math time.

I teach 24 energetic Kindergarten students at a school with a very diverse population.

Students come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and home languages. Some students qualify for the free or reduced lunch. We have Title I status, but receive limited funding for STEM activities (Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology). My students thrive on excitement and enjoy activities that are energetic and full of hands-on activities. It is my goal to create this type of learning environment each and every day for my students.

My Project

The innovative STEM Science stations will provide endless opportunities for the students to explore magnetism, motion, and buoyancy as they complete hands-on experiments and engineering activities. Each station includes cards to prompt students to perform simple experiments and comes with all the hands-on materials to complete each one. The Measurement Centers will provide an instant visual grasp of beginning measurement concepts as they conduct simple investigations with the hands-on centers. Each center includes activity cards with illustrated instructions that are just right for beginners along with all the tools needed to complete each activity. The science "Match-up" puzzles will provide opportunities for the children to build science knowledge with self-correcting puzzles that provide instant reinforcement. This is will be a great activity for early finishers or use in small-group rotations.

Kindergarten students begin with little or no science experience.

It is my goal to create a learning environment with as many opportunities to include hands-on science activities as possible. With the declining budgets for schools, it is nearly impossible to make this happen without your help. Please consider investing in my project so I can make this happen for my students this year and for many years to come.
