Kindergarten Room Makeover

My Project

I am going into my 5th year of teaching. I will be moving classrooms this year and will be changing classroom themes. To prepare for the curious and energetic students who will walk into my class in August, I want to create a classroom environment that is inviting where students desire to learn. I want to create a safe space that’s bright and inviting. I have added items like a colorful classroom rug and a decorative lamp to create this place.

One of my favorite things to do with my students is to read aloud to them.

I feel this creates a love for reading. To enhance my classroom library, I have included a set of Junie B Jones chapter books.

Kindergarten students also love to create and use their imagination with LEGOS and various other building tools. Each year I try to add a different type of building manipulative for them, so I have added a set of magnetic tools for them to create with.

Along with needing items to set up my classroom, as a classroom teacher it takes lots of supplies to keep a classroom organized and orderly. Supplies such as lamination sheets, protective badge holders/clips and label maker cartridges are some of the items I use often in my classroom.
