Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With this touch screen Lenovo Yoga Laptop, my young students will be able to explore interactive educational websites, conduct simple research on classroom topics, and begin learning 21st century skills like digital literacy, typing, and using online tools. This device will also help incorporate multimedia tools and videos, audio books, and voice typing which supports both emergent readers and English language learners.

The touchscreen of this laptop makes it easier for little hands to navigate than a traditional keyboard and mouse setup.

Kindergarteners are naturally inquisitive. If we're learning about animals, they want to know where they live and what they eat. If we're talking about seasons, they wonder why leaves change color. With this laptop, I will be able to guide them through kid-friendly research activities and help them learn how to find answers to their big questions.

This project will impact my 18 students and open up a new world! They'll gain confidence using technology, build early research skills, and learn how to work independently and collaboratively to find information and present what they have learned with their peers.

By investing in technology in early grades, we're planting seeds for lifelong learning and preparing our students for a future where digital skills are essential.
