This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want the best for my students. Every day you can find us working to become more mature readers and writers by learning new strategies. I teach an amazing group of kindergarten ELL students. They live in New York City.

In my classroom, I have 25 wonderful English language learners who are excited to come to school and are curious each day for what adventures will happen.

My students come from an underprivileged area where many of them come from uneven upbringings. Although some struggles continue at home, they still come to school every day with smiles on their faces ready to learn!

My Project

Unlike any other year, this year will be a little different because of the pandemic. In order to ensure safety for each of my students, I would like the students to have their own personal bins. The personal bins will help students stay organized and safe. This year students will not be able to share their materials. Each student will need their own individual dry eraser markers, sentence strips to practice forming letters. In addition, my students need social emotional activities to begin this year with the right mind set. I am requesting Grab Write Social Emotional Prompts. This will be a great tool in the classroom to strengthen social emotional learning in the classroom with engaging prompt cards. I will also be able to have daily writing or group conversations, the cards will cover topics such as friendship & teamwork, self-control and more.
