My Students

Hola! I am the proud teacher of the best Dual Language Bilingual Kindergarten class that ever was! This wonderful group of 21 Spanish dominant students is working twice as hard learning half the time in English and half the time in Spanish, and do so wearing their very best smiles!

During these very challenging times, it has been difficult for me as their teacher to keep consistent, insightful, and engaging instruction and learning.

I am in need of bilingual books and resources that I can use to devise a cohesive and engaging remote learning curriculum that will help my students continue to soar both in English and Spanish.

My Project

The materials chosen will help me provide my students visual aids that can enable them to practice the skills they worked so hard to learn before schools were closed for the year. My Dual Language classroom worked double, learning to read, write, and do math in both, English and Spanish. Doing so with grace, enthusiasm, and love of learning.

The unexpected schools' closing left us with no time to prepare and equip ourselves with the tools needed to at home to create charts and informative visual aids to support my students' learning.

My students come from low-income households in an urban environment plagued with the perils of city life. They were already at a disadvantage. Not being able to go to school or have access to materials necessary for learning only leaves them further behind.
