Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am currently a kindergarten teacher in the South Bronx. In my school 85 percent of the students receive free lunch. It is my responsibility to educate, protect and care for them while they are in my charge. I also believed that it is my responsibility to get them everything they need to succeed in education and life. My school has worked hard in educating our young minds. This year we were told by the region that we must maintain portfolios for every student, but were not supplied with the means to do so. Our principal has supplied us with as many materials as the budget makes possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to ask our parents to provide these supplies because it would cause a money strain on a large percentage of them Since these portfolios will follow our students until they graduate from the school it is my goal and to provide the next teacher with a neat and organized idea of what the students have learned until now. I am asking for hardcover notebooks, dividers, and plastic protective covers for all the students work. Thank you in advance for assisting me to show how my students are progressing on their journey of learning.
