My Students
My students come from a low socioeconomic background and all are eager to learn. They come to school everyday looking for new experiences and see our classroom as a safe place for them. Being that my families do not have a lot of money to spare, this Donors Choose project will help their learning grow!
My students are required to get 45 minutes to an hour of structured play each day required by the district.
I am lacking the necessary tools to allow my students to have that choice and freedom to choose throughout the day. Having more choices for structured play will allow my students to use metacognition through the play.
My Project
My students did not have the opportunity prior to starting school to engage in social interactions and learn through exploration. These materials will give my students the necessary supplies to do so. My wish is for my students to have materials during structured play to explore, create and socialize. By funding my project you will help my students reach this goal.
We currently do not have an adequate place for art exploration and sensory exploration limiting my students play and creativity.
We have an hour a day for structured play implemented by the state of Nevada to increase learning through play, these materials will allow students to be engaged and build fine motor skills.
This will allow the core subjects, especially science and social studies standards to be integrated into our curriculum.
