Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarten students love technology and need to be exposed to it as much as possible! Many of my students only experience technology in our classroom. Unfortunately, with budget cuts and increased class sizes, Kindergarten has been put on the permanent waiting list for upgrades to computers.

I teach 21 students who are eager and excited to learn.

My students attend a large public school and most of them come from low income households. Over half of my students are English Language Learners and are attending school for the very first time.

My Project

A new laptop computer will be so exciting for my students! It will provide the means to utilize curriculum software in all subject areas. For example, viewing videos from our math or literacy program will make the lesson more accessible to all my students, especially those who are visual learners and learning English as a second language. Our new programs include on-line periodic assessments. Each student is tested individually by the teacher. A newer, faster computer will cut assessment time in half which means more time for learning.

I am always looking for new ways to improve instruction and enhance learning in my classroom.

With a new laptop, students will also be able to view enhanced lessons with the help of our LCD projector. They will have the opportunity to complete the periodic assessments quickly so we can continue learning as much as possible!
