My Students

I have 32 wonderful and bright students. They are all eager to learn many things in kindergarten. As a new teacher, I am motivated to bring new and exciting ideas into the classroom. I teach low-income students in a Chicago neighborhood. My school is awesome; unfortunately, it lacks the necessary funding that is greatly needed. The principal and the staff are great to work with. We all help each other in order to benefit student learning which is most important to me as an educator. Without funding, the students are not given supplies needed to complete the school year.

I teach ESL students reading, math, writing, social studies, and science.

My students love participating in centers for reading and math, but I would love to incorporate a writing center filled with the right materials.

My Project

My students need more math centers in our classroom. Five and six year olds need motivation in the classroom to learn while playing. The “Instant Math Learning Centers Set” will allow my students to pick up new math skills while enjoying the task at hand. I would like my classroom environment to be set up so the children can interact with manipulatives hands on. The “Instant Math Learning Centers Set” has step-by-step picture instructions and hands-on activities that come ready to use and will make independent math practice a snap! The set is perfect for small groups of up to 4 children, the centers come with everything kids need to complete super-involving activities that cover a wide range of early math skills from matching and patterning with kid-pleasing shapes to estimating and adding with cute bug counters. Each center features a double-sided activity chart that allows all 4 children to work at the same time…with simple picture instructions that are super-easy to follow, so even nonreaders can work independently! The complete set includes all 8 centers shown, each with a reproducible write & wipe assessment card that makes it easy to track children’s progress. With this set, my children will have fun while learning! Any donation towards my project will help my students learn and grow while playing. Thank you!
