Kindergarten Masterpieces

My students need art supplies such as paint, brushes, big crayons, glue sticks, dot painters, a roll of paper, and ink pads. Help my students get messy and share their ideas through art.

My Students

Imagine spending the day with the Little Rascals. Can you hear the questions and the laughing? Do you see the curiosity in their eyes? Welcome to my classroom, my students are artist who love chalk drawings, bright colors and silly shapes. Art will allow them to feel good about themselves.

My students are Brooklyn's finest, they were raised in East New York and have a unique view on life.

They are amazingly silly and will teach you something new everyday. Our school is a Title I school where most of the students receive free lunch and breakfast. The population is a mix of African American, Hispanic and Bangladeshi students.

My Project

My students will share the imagery that they imagine as they listen to literature. They will create action heroes and images of their future selves. My hope for them is to release their feelings in a positive way through art. I hope they learn in the moments when they are exploring the arts to enjoy the smaller moments we have in life. The students will be using the paint to create self portraits and explore the different ways we can use color. They will start with finger painting and end the year will a mural to reflect all we have learned.

The donation of art supplies will provide an outlet outside of academic time for students to enjoy and express themselves.

It will allow students to be the artist they were born to be.
