This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In Kindergarten, students not only need to learn academics, but they must learn "how" to do school. Providing a nice carpet creates an inviting area for students. This particular carpet allows students to have a dedicated space for learning as well as to easily sit around the perimeter for circle time.

This project will provide a key learning space and age-appropriate library for approximately 25 kindergartners.

After teaching grades 1-3 for the last 14 years, I am moving to kindergarten. My goal is to welcome students and help them feel comfortable as they enter school for the very first time. The requested decodable and phonics book sets will provide the opportunity for students to be successful as early readers. The carpets and books are engaging for this age level.
