Kindergarten Kids Need a Class Carpet

My wonderful group of Kindergarten students need a clean classroom carpet. Kinders sit on their carpet throughout the day to listen to teacher lessons. They also return to the rug for group work and activities throughout the day. Ours has been used used in a kindergarten class for 15 years (5 years longer than planned) and is soiled with black spots. We have constantly tried cleaning it, but nothing works! Note: My picture does not do justice to how icky it is in person. We were supposed to get a new carpet this year, but school funds keep getting frozen. I try my best to make my classroom as inviting as possible and a clean place for kids to sit would really help!

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach an awesome and energetic group of Kindergarteners. They are enthusiastic to learn and super happy to be at school! This makes my job amazing and it's really neat to be a part of their learning.

Our school is an inner city school in Southern California. We are a designated low-income school with 100% free lunch. Teachers and parents work hard to give our kids the best, but sometimes supplies just get really expensive.

Our school facilities are run down but we try to make do. However, my kids really deserve a clean place to sit and I want to provide that to them. Unfortunately, I had the unlucky timing of trying to have my District get us a replacement rug (a big ticket item) in a year full of funding cuts.

Kinders delight in coming to school and showing off "their" classroom to parents and friends. Your help will make my kids clap, cheer, and smile (I am not kidding, this is what Kindergarteners are like). Please help us attain our new classroom center piece!
