Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarten in a Title I school where the majority of the students receive free lunch, come from low income households, and their primary language is not English. This makes reading, writing, math, science and social studies difficult for them.
Despite all of these obstacles, my students come to the classroom full of enthusiasm, questions, joy and an eagerness to learn, especially at a distance.
My Project
This school year 2020-2021 has been very different. Now we are urged to avoid spread germs at all costs and writing is not an exception. Each one of my kindergartners are in need of an age-appropriate writing journal without the need to share them.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, sharing materials is out of the question.
Help me get my kindergarten class some supplies to use in their homes while distance learning is in action.
Kindergartners need guidance, for writing, but in a safe way.
With your contribution they will receive their own writing journal to learn how to write correctly, while having fun drawing about what they write. We are also requesting more pencils, highlighters to help them while reading and writing and some books to practice reading.
