Our school is situated in a rural area surrounded by beautiful mountains, farms, and a wonderful neighborhood!
Kindergarten is such a new and exciting adventure for the teacher and the students!
Many times, Kindergarten can be a student's first real experience in a classroom enviornment, and I want to make it awesome! My goal is to have students come to school excited and ready to learn each day! It is such a honor, as their teacher, to lay the educational foundation for these little learners! I can't wait to see what this new school year has in store!
My Project
The materials I am requesting for my students will help them learn and be successful in Kindergarten! Some of the materials will also help me, as the teacher, to be organized and mangage my classroom as efficiently as possible! Classroom structure is key for success and the sit spots and table spots will help these little learners organize their learning environment. Sit spots are amazing tools that help students know where to sit for learning time, how and where to line up, and also aides in teaching personal space. The table spots give them a working and writing space for small group instruction. As the teacher, I could really use the file boxes, hanging file folders, and photo storage box to help me organize lessons, units, manipulatives & learning games for the kids.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve their learning environment, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
The literacy tools I have selected, especially the magnetic letter kit and alphabet linking letter and word building cubes, will be great manipulatives for students to engage with as they are mastering their letters and sounds, and learning to read and spell! I will also be able to use the dry erase sleeves to give students practice with multiple skills, such as handwriting practice, math skills, and spelling. The counting bears, play dough, and STEM magnetic building blocks will increase their math and problem solving/logical thinking skills. The make up remover pads will be used as erasers for the students to use with dry erase boards, which are used in a variety of ways throughout the school day.
These materials will help immensely in my Kindergarten Classroom!
