My class consists of two half-day Kindergarten programs.

My school is considered mild poverty. My district has budget cut backs due to a tornado. My students would greatly benefit from hands-on technology in all areas of learning. My students are eager to learn, highly creative and energetic.

My Project

My students would have access to endless educational apps that are geared toward their level of learning. The iPad apps would provide repetitive practice in alphabet games and writing letters. Building fundamental reading skills is critical to their educational future. A variety of apps that are available on the iPad will allow students to work on rhyming, recognizing letters, letter sounds and blending short vowel consonant vowel words together to begin the reading process. My students will also be able to work on a variety of math skills which include: addition, subtraction, greater than and less than, time, patterning and much, much more. I believe that this type of technology would allow them the opportunities to experience hands-on activities with a fun twist.

My students would benefit from hands-on, engaging technology that would provide interactive learning on their individual level.

The enticement of playing games while mastering basic skills in reading and math would allow my students to develop skills necessary for advancement.
