Kindergarten Gets Wild About Learning With This ALPHABET JUNGLE RUG

Help me give my students this Alphabet Jungle Animals rug for my classroom. The kids can learn about the alphabet while associating letter sounds with different and familiar jungle animals. My class name is Mrs. Joanie's Jaguars.

My Project

Help me get my kindergarten students WILD and EXCITED about learning the different letters of the alphabet and letter sounds with this "ALPHABET JUNGLE RUG". The students will be associating letters/sounds with the different animals found in the jungle as well as learning about their habitats and characteristics. I am "Mrs. Joanie's Jaguars" and this rug will be a great addition to my classroom and theme as we meet whole group daily for shared learning. The rug will create a wonderful extension to my teaching environment that will open up new discussions and possibly research that would be incorporated into the children's learning that can be child lead and directed.

This rug will serve as an asset to my class each day, as it creates curiosity and sparks learning with my kindergarten students.

I would greatly appreciate your help in making this happen for my children. I feel that it is the job of any teacher to provide opportunities for their student's learning and create avenues to help them get there. I would love to see the students develop a desire to further their learning and knowledge through technology regarding letters/sounds, reading and research.

I have been teaching kindergarten for 25 years, and it never gets old helping these little minds develop a love for learning. The most rewarding part of my job is watching the transformation from the beginning of the year to the end of the year while tracking their progress each step of the way. My School is a Title 1 school, and I would love for my students to enjoy this special rug in our classroom and give them the initiative to want to learn. I want to create a classroom that is full of adventure, curiosity, and ownership. Please help my students experience this journey.
