This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating, headphones, and classroom supplies can make a powerful difference in student learning by supporting focus, comfort, and independence. Flexible seating allows students to choose a space where they feel most comfortable and productive—whether that’s a wobble stool, floor cushion, or standing desk. This choice helps them take ownership of their learning and regulate their energy levels. Headphones are especially helpful for students who need to block out distractions or engage in audio learning programs. They allow students to work at their own pace without being disrupted or disrupting others. Basic supplies like pencils, markers, and whiteboards ensure that every child is ready to learn without delay, helping to create a smooth and structured learning environment.

The goal of this project is to create a classroom space that meets the diverse needs of all students.

By providing flexible seating, tools for focus like headphones, and the materials they need to learn, I want to create an environment that supports engagement, choice, and equity. These resources will help students work independently, collaborate with others, and feel confident and motivated in their daily learning.

What makes my students special is their resilience, creativity, and excitement for learning. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring their unique strengths and experiences into the classroom every day. Many of them thrive when given hands-on tools, movement opportunities, and individualized support. With the right resources, I know they can reach their full potential—and I’m committed to helping them do just that.
