Kindergarten Field Day Celebration!

My Students

Our classroom is a melting pot of amazing kids! Students travel from several different neighboring cities to attend our school. Backgrounds are varied, incomes are modest, and many come from farming communities. They are hard working, happy, and high achievers.

"Learning is a joy, and school is a happy place." This is our motto and we live it every day.

Our classroom is a place where we delight in education. We laugh, we smile, we encourage, we lift, we inspire, we do our best, and we love every minute of it!

My Project

The students at our charter school work hard all year long. Our field day activities are a way of celebrating their hard work before they graduate from kindergarten. It’s a day full of fun outdoor activities, sunshine, and being active. We love it!

The supplies I have selected will help our class rotate to four different stations during Field Day.

The first station will have a 12 foot parachute (with 12 handles) so that students from my class, as well as the kindergarten class next door, can join together in some parachute games that involve the small plastic balls that come with the parachute. The second station will host a ring toss. These supplies will help the students line up for a chance to see if they can hit the bulls-eye. Station three will host relay races including plastic cones and trying to take a plastic egg from one end of the cones to the other. If the egg drops on the ground, the pretend egg and its yolk will pop out of its plastic eggshell. At the final station, students will have the chance to participate in a beanbag toss. The game I've selected is double-sided and offers two fun ways to play the game. The kids will have a blast!

This is my first year teaching kindergarten. Though I’ve taught other grades in the past and I have many supplies that I have brought with me, I don’t have age-appropriate yard games for my students. I would love to find a way to permanently provide these materials for our classroom so that the students at our campus can have the best possible field day experience for years to come!
