Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten class is filled with children that come from families of diverse cultures. They bring with them a variety of experiences and skills along with an excitement to learn. They love to be engaged in learning especially when the activity is aligned with their individual learning style. Then they proceed with confidence. In order to address the student's style of learning, instruction needs to be flexible. The lessons should provide active involvement, physical movement, and an exposure to materials which promote self-directed learning.
Students' favorite way of learning is hands-on and even though we are virtual, students should have the opportunity for it!
Breaking up my little one's in to smaller groups means they have an opportunity to socialize, work on their turn-taking, and practice their language skills in a holistic, natural situation.
My Project
This year, my new kindergarten students have started the year with remote learning. A lot of the work my students are doing is online; however, at this young age, it is important that students practice holding a pencil and work on their handwriting.
Having access to digital resources from Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me to print assignments on paper so that my students continue working on their fine motor skills.
Providing my students with opportunities to complete paper and pencil activities will ensure that I am meeting the needs of my kindergarten students. Since many of my students have limited resources at home, this will allow them to practice their handwriting skills, just as we would in school. The wide variety of resources available on Teachers Pay Teachers allows me to provide activities for each learner, no matter what their level.
