My Project

My classroom does not have cubbies for my kindergarten students, and their textbooks, journals, and belongings do not all fit inside their desks. Cubbies would positively impact student learning by creating a more organized desk area, reducing time spent searching for materials. This would streamline transition times, allowing students more time to learn. Additionally, cubbies provide children with a sense of ownership over their personal belongings, ensuring that they know their items will be safe until the end of the day. This arrangement encourages children to respect each other’s space by not taking items from anyone else's cubby, which helps foster a sense of community and responsibility.

A well-organized classroom sends a clear and positive message to students that the room was designed with their specific needs in mind because they and their learning matter.

Good organization can make any classroom feel inviting and functional.
