My Students

Imagine the potential of kindergarten students making paper while learning about the 4 R's of natural resource conservation and art making.

I will be working alongside a diverse group of kindergartners who speak a variety of languages.

They need opportunities to engage in hands-on activities that help them to develop their language skills and deepen understandings. They learn and grow in a classroom environment where they are thinking, creating and reflecting.

My Project

Kindergartners will begin by developing their love and appreciation of trees. We will learn about their structures, functions and their importance as a natural resource. We will then examine the connection between trees and paper. The end goal is that students will develop an understanding of the importance of recycling and reusing paper in order to conserve our natural resources. We need a paper shredder, blenders and paper making screens and supplies so we can make our own paper. We will collect discarded paper and recycle it into paper that we will use again. It will be much more meaningful and memorable for young students if they actually get to make paper and explore the process.

Your generous donations will provide our class with all of the tools and supplies that we will need to make our own paper.

You will be giving these students an opportunity to take their learning to the next level.
