My Project
I am a first-year teacher going back to kindergarten. As a new teacher, I look forward to creating a welcoming environment for my students to learn in and feel excited to come to every day. As much as I am excited to have my own classroom to call home, it is just as much for my students as it is for me.
I want to create a student-centered environment focused on my students and their unique needs and interests.
I want to create a well-organized, accessible space full of engaging and inviting manipulatives and spaces. The requested flex seating options and lap desks will allow learners to guide their education. Additionally, I believe that young students learn through play. Adding STEAM-based tiles, building blocks, play dough, pixel art challenge and other play items as well as whisper phones and sensory toys will help my students develop important social skills and encourage creativity. Finally, I believe in creating a classroom community. As a hub for class connection and meetings, I am requesting a rug for everyone to be seated in order to encourage unity and act as an invitation to participate.
