I am teaching a kindergarten class this year and my students need building materials, such as blocks and magnetic tiles.
I have 22 kindergartners that are eager to learn.
For many of my students, kindergarten is their first school experience. My students love building and doing hands-on activities. In our school, 57% of the students receive free or reduced price meals.
My Project
My students need colored wood blocks, creative blocks and magnetic tiles.
The colored wood blocks set has different shapes and sizes that provide a variety of building combinations. These blocks are great for developing shape and color recognition and sorting skills.
I also need "creative blocks" with shapes, such as stairs and roofs so they can make a town, a castle, or other structures that strike their imagination. Telling stories about what they are building encourages the development of early language skills.
I also want a set of magnetic tiles, so my kindergartners can explore geometry concepts as they build.
Playing is very important for children's social development and it also helps children's thinking skills.
The right materials will enrich my students' play and provide construction materials that I can use with my students for many more years to come.
