I teach Kindergarten in the inner city.

My kids love to read and have been making great gains. Some of my kids have already exceeded my end of the year goals and continue to become great readers every day! We are a public school with limited funds and we know how to share, but we need some books of our own!

My Project

I am requesting 13 sets of leveled reading books. While I teach Kindergarten, I have some students that are already reading at a first grade level and I don't want to hold them back with books that are too easy. I also don't want them to become bored with the few books that I do have at their reading level. Having more books that are at my students' correct reading level will help them to excel during independent reading, have the opportunity to take books home at night and will help them during their guided reading lesson with me.

If I have the resources that I need to help them to continue to excel, there is no telling just what dream they may be able to achieve when they are older!
