My Students
My students are an excited bunch of learners. We are a STEM school with emphasis on science through project based learning. We develop our units through our science standards so our subjects are meshed together.
The students in my class are some of the most caring, exploratory and hard working students that I have taught.
They are always asking questions and trying to learn as much as they can about what we are focused on. They make my job fun and I am thankful I get to spend my day with them.
My Project
The objective of the Letters alive Program is to help beginning and at-risk students improve their literacy skills so they can learn to read at grade level and increase their reading comprehension, and reading attention span. I expect to see dramatic improvements with most of the students increasing their reading ability significantly. The Letters alive Program provides students with access to the advanced technology of augmented reality. My kindergarten students are very inquisitive and love our animals unit. The literacy and science connections that will be made will make them extremely excited to learn letters and words. I hope that this project will provide them with extra support to be successful when they move to first grade.
