Kinderfabulous Science Explorers

My students need access to current technology: a macbook computer, a case to keep it safe and a carrying bag to share their work with other classrooms.

My Students

Can you imagine seeing a different Wonder everyday? Or seeing videos of penguins, lions, and frogs? A computer enhances science learning and allows my Integrated Kindergarten students to explore their universe in a meaningful, lasting way.

My students attend a historical school where funds for science and technology are minimal.

My students are diverse in cultures, as well as learning styles. Behavior management is very much linked to engaging hands-on science activities that teach deductive reasoning and basic science concepts. My students are eager intelligent children who desperately need technology to learn science and hone reading, writing, and math skills. My kindergartners include General Education, Special Education, and English Language Learners (ELL). All students learn science better when given tactile STEM-based hands-on materials. Technology allows me to extend those experiences with activities and challenges.

My Project

This MacBook Pro laptop computer will allow me to differentiate each science lesson and accommodate all student learning needs. It will be set up so students will work whole group, independently, or in small groups to do internet research and exploration for class and projects. We will use the MacBook Pro laptop daily in our interactive information/opinion writing and shared reading using the websites Wonderopolis, Science 360, and Scholastic: Let’s Find Out web-edition. The use of this computer, cases will strengthen my students’ knowledge in many common core and district content areas.

Understanding our universe is important for my children.

Technology provides portals to a myriad of sites and empowers children to learn. It can fuel science career interests, too! This laptop will provide support for individual, small group, and classroom learning. Nothing beats the surprised and delighted expressions when discovery happens. Your generous support will make a scientific difference!
