Kindercoders: Building Brains Through Play

Help me give my students coding materials for our Kindergarten classroom! Introducing a weekly coding rotation will provide equitable access to STEM skills at an early age. This will help bridge the divide by giving students hands-on experience.

My Project

My Kindergarten classroom serves approximately 20 students from diverse backgrounds. A significant percentage of our students come from underserved or low-income households, and many are English Language Learners (ELLs). My students are curious, enthusiastic, and eager to explore new ways of learning.

Introducing a weekly coding rotation will provide equitable access to foundational STEM skills at a critical early age.

This program will help bridge the digital divide by giving students hands-on experience with both screen-free and digital coding tools. It will also foster 21st-century skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and logical thinking. For many of our students, this will be their first exposure to computer science concepts, which we hope will spark long-term interest in technology and innovation.

We are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students—regardless of background—can thrive. This grant will directly support the purchase of coding materials, robotics tools, and technology resources that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for early learners.
