This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having meaningful and engaging literacy centers in a kindergarten classroom is vital. It is during this time of the day that my kinder students practice their reading, writing and phonics skills independently and at their own pace. As a kinder teacher I try to make sure that my literacy centers involve hands-on learning activities. The centers that I have asked for will be used throughout the entire year. They vary from identifying beginning sounds in words as well as blending words together to get them ready to read.

Providing students with engaging and hands-on centers will definitely keep my kinder students motivated and engaged while creating a positive attitude towards reading and writing.
