My Project

This year I am transitioning to kindergarten which will be a new experience for both me and my students. I am moving from first grade where there is a world's difference in how children manage their emotions, as well as so many new things that kinder kiddos will spend the year learning how to navigate.

One of the biggest things I would like to focus on with my students this year is their social emotional skills.

Students will learn how to socialize with each other, while also advocating for themselves, and learning how to advocate for each other. In order to do this, I want to provide for them a cozy corner where they can learn to speak on what they're feeling, and then work towards a solution.

Two other areas we will focus on are collaboration and care. Through games and puzzles, students will learn how to collaborate with each other, and through cleaning for our classroom materials, they will learn to care for things outside of themselves; therefore contributing to a comfy and fun classroom that they will be excited to come to each day!
